Hello! My name is Amy Tuning and I am delighted to continue being the Snoopy Preschool Director/Teacher in the Gardiner/Mammoth community. My husband is the Fire Inspector for the park and we have lived in Mammoth for 2 years. Our six kids attend school in Gardiner and we have loved the community we have discovered here. Our oldest will be a sophomore next year and our youngest will be in 3nd grade.
In 2006 I graduated from George Fox University in Oregon with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a minor in Social Work. I have spent 4 years as a Kinder teacher, 1.5 years as a 2nd grade teacher and was a substitute teacher for 8 years while my kids were younger. Just prior to this position, I subbed for Gardiner Public School for a short time and enjoyed getting to know more people in the community. My husband and I have also been certified as foster parents for 5 years and have grown a lot through the experience; becoming better parents to our own kiddos and also learning more about children that I encounter in the school setting.
My husband and I are both originally from Oregon. We have lived in Alaska for 7 years, and Colorado for 8 years. We are both loving the small community feel of Gardiner/Mammoth and are looking forward to raising our kids here in the years ahead.
